My three very best friends, Sarah, Tarah, Erin, are simply the best people in the world and are my souls mates. She is pancakes in the middle of the night This lovely and tear-provoking thread seems like a nice place to share it. Reflecting on this, I recently wrote a poem about our friendship and how meaningful female companionship can be (I write poems for myself as a form of meditation). Oh, how lucky I feel to know her – she is a radiant and kind and incredible human. I recently was going through some very difficult moments, and it made me reflect so much on my friend D, who has steadfastly been a rock and light during this time – she is literally my favorite person to be around, we never run out of things to talk about, and we are constantly laughing. Being friends with older women and do you say this to your friends? How about you? Who are you proud of right now? We’d love to hear. I’m so proud of her and know the world is a better, safer place because she’s in it. Separately, she is the friend who is always prepared with anything you need (Tide pen, gum, flashlight, granola bar, you name it), but she also loves to have a good time and is hilarious in party-mode. After a child leaves her home, she goes through her own process of joy, grief and rest, and she handles it all with so much grace. Since she started fostering, three little ones have been reunified with their families, and I’ve seen Megan rally behind the parents every time. She also does everything she can to support the relationship between the kiddos and their biological parents. Whenever a new child comes into her home, she meets them with love, patience and empathy.
